When is Sinulog in 2027?

Sinulog 2027 runs from 17 to 25 January 2027. Other years: 2026, 18 to 26 January 2026; 2028, 16 to 24 January 2028.

About Sinulog

The Sinulog festival, held each January in Cebu City, honours the Santo Nino, the image of the infant Jesus given by Ferdinand Magellan to the Cebuano queen at her baptism in 1521. Its name comes from the Cebuano sulog, meaning a current, referring to the dance's flowing steps: two steps forward, one step back, to the rhythm of drums. Nine days of novena masses build up to the grand procession on the third Sunday of January, in which troupes in bright costumes dance through the streets of Cebu, while devotees carry statues of the Santo Nino. Smaller Sinulogs are held across the Visayas. The Ati-Atihan festival of Kalibo has a similar mix of drum and faith.
